Proctor Park, Utica New York Family Session

I started April off right with an adorable family session at Proctor Park in Utica New York! When Nina asked me to take their family photos I was SO EXCITED! I met Nina over the summer through our local Down Syndrome Awareness Club, The 21 Club. The 21 Club is an AMAZING local organization that offers support and education to families of someone with Down Syndrome. Nina and I met at the annual family picnic where I was taking photos for the families of the club. For those who haven’t heard about the 21 club, or for those who might know someone who would be interested, make sure to check out their site here! They have events throughout the year that are lots of fun and great ways to mingle and learn!

When I first met Nina, she was immediately open and kind. It doesn’t surprise me at all to know that Nina recently spoke on our local news station to promote Down Syndrome Awareness Day, 3/21. Finding out a child has Down Syndrome can be scary, especially if you aren’t familiar with the disability. However, I know for my family, as well as for Nina’s, knowing and loving someone with Down Syndrome is one of the most rewarding experiences! Make sure you watch her interview here!

The Martinezes were as excited for their family session as I was. They stepped out of their car with smiles and adorable outfits perfectly coordinated.  Although it was cold, (it was early April in Upstate NY after all), they braved the cold and got some ADORABLE shots for their family session!
